About Mindy McCready
Mindy McCready, the fastest selling debut female artist in country music history, signed her first recording contract at the age of 17 after residing in Nashville for exactly 51 weeks to the day.
After learning her craft with private opera training from a retired Julliard School Of Music professor, McCready discovered country music from the karaoke scene and decided to sing country rather than opera in 7 other languages.
Critical acclaim has dubbed McCready the most classic, female voice of her generation and has only just begun to showcase her musical ability to the world. Being at the height of controversy since minute one, a double-edged sword in the entertainment world, shows the adversity that McCready has faced. For a newcomer, that could mean the end. She has managed to rise and fall with class. McCready’s fan base may be the most unbelievable part of her. She came out singing songs that took a stand, with a strong belief in what it means to be a woman, and always with heartfelt conviction of someone way beyond her years.
After standing up taller while singing her music, the men fell in love with her ethereal voice and angelic looks. While music is just a small facet to this entertainment giant, Mindy appeals to a demographic spanning decades as her story transfers over to the hearts of millions.
McCready wrote a television show at 18 years old in the back of the bus on her first tour ever with country music superstarGeorgeStrait. She began dating television’s Superman Dean Cain, who encouraged her to try to sell the show to network. In her second TV meeting, she walked into ABC and sold her show. While being the first ever of it’s kind, McCready had the idea to show the world what it was like to be young, successful, talented, and raising two teenage boys, while being a famous singer. The concept we know now is reality television. She was not allowed to do the show due to very strict politics that encompassed country music at the time. They simply said, “Do you want to sing or act? You can’t do both.” Nothing drives Mindy harder than to be told something cannot be accomplished. She continues to display that there is nothing she cannot do. Over the years, she has appeared on countless television programs and hundreds of the world’s most popular print publications spanning the globe. In 2009, McCready achieved her dream of participating in a television series. The series, airing on VH1 on January 7, 2010, is titled “Celebrity Rehab” with the famous Dr. Drew.
Mindy of course, hoping to do so, became the focal point of the show, and finally for the first time, the world will travel on a journey with her to find answers, seek redemption, find peace, and find herself. After recording 5 solo albums, 4 greatest hits collections, 3 Christmas compilations, a Country Cares for Kids album to benefit the Children of St. Jude, a single written for and donated to “The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence” and several movie sound tracks, including a prized spot on the “Price of Egypt” soundtrack for Steven Spielberg, McCready now intertwines her love of music, which she has always believed to be a crucial part of how she is as an entertainer, while being on screen.
Now the world cannot only hear the joy, pain, and sensuality that is Mindy, they can also see it. After the producers of the show saw what was happening on screen, they quickly singled two other of McCready’s show ideas.
